Zero Carbon Bristol is an initiative that's grown directly out of Bristol's vision to become a leading Green Capital. Bristol finished 7th in the European Green Capital competition in 2008, and was the UK's only shortlisted finalist.
Bristol's Green Capital Momentum Group (now Green Capital Initiative?) published a Peak Oil Report in April 2009, and Bristol City Council responded by committing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40% by 2020.
